Some of the world's most premium brands actually have very simple logos:

YSL Logo
Louis Vuitton Logo
Christian Dior logo

And the overlapping initials? Honestly, it's outdated. So what is the main attraction?

It's not the logo. It's the world they build around it. They are masters at creating worlds you want to live in, and the key to that world is one of their very expensive products.

They create the dream worlds through specific imagery, messaging and stories. When you see these brands, you know exactly what feeling they're trying to evoke within seconds. They're able to tell a full story through colour, image composition and emotion - and that story is captivating enough to draw you in.

You don’t need to search for their logo to know it’s them. The imagery, colours and tone all move in the same direction. It feels cohesive, considered, and intentional.

That kind of clarity is never accidental. It’s the result of a strong brand strategy carried through consistently.

Most brands care about how they look. But the best brands care about how they make their audience feel. That feeling isn't built through one well-planned photoshoot or an expensive logo. It's built through clear positioning, a deep understanding of their audience, and the discipline to stay consistent over time.

Without that foundation, brands end up piecing things together, such as different styles, different tones and directions.

And while each element might work on its own, together they lack the cohesion that makes a brand feel premium.
